Lovely little CAMRA pub. Good ales on cask! Food looked and smelled amazing although we were too late to book in so had to go elsewhere although they were able to serve us a pork pie which was banging! So my recommendation for Sunday lunch is book in advance if you can to avoid disappointment! Dog friendly pub and the staff are charming. We did encounter a snooty snotty patron grumbling about our dog barking (which we were doing our best to control) so we took our dog and drinks outside, the beautiful landlady came out afterwards to apologise for that customer's behaviour and said she'd had a word, which meant a lot to us that she bothered to come out to talk to us and smooth things over. She's a lovely lady and I'd highly recommend this pub, we'll be back next time we're in the area! Thank you x
From walking in all the staff were friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. We had sunday lunch two had beef and two had pork all was home made and tasted beautiful we also had desserts which was to die for . we would highly recommend,And we will be back with the rast of the family x The Russell Family
Booked for Sunday lunch. Delicious! Generous portion size. Loved the big bowl of fresh veg. Very nice young serving staff. Would definitely recommend.
Lovely little pub. Dog friendly and a great selection of real Ale. We had the Haddock and chips, and it was soo good. Real chips (fresh not frozen), the batter was so light and fish cooked perfectly. Excellent service too, so we'll definitely be coming back.
So pleased we called here for food when in Louth! We were there on a Thursday which is pie night, I had the chicken pie which was very good, home made chips are always a winner too! I asked for a side of gravy, I think it's the best gravy I've ever had! I would definitely recommend it!
Only a 10 minute walk out of town to this CAMRA Good Beer Guide regular. (Stop half way for the Boars Head...or on return leg!) On a junction into town so the sunny beer garden is a bit noisy. Nice locals bar. Excellent pint of Taylor's Landlord.
Excellent for a well cooked Sunday lunch and a beer or glass of wine. Don't forget to ring up and book though.
Don't miss the Rabbit & Smoked Bacon Pie or the Venison Casserole for a hearty meal. For something lighter, the Warm Wood Pigeon Salad and Breaded Duck Goujons are excellent starters. Also, the Date & Walnut Sticky Toffee Pudding is a perfect finish to your meal.
